Who We Are…

Meet Fiona! Fiona is a mother, wife, educator, and the baker and creator behind Fi’s Bakes! Her inspiration and love for cooking comes from family members and her love of people.

“My late grandmother loved feeding people. It brought her joy. I am a self taught baker, and over the years I have learned tips and tricks, gathered knowledge, and collected recipes from family and friends.”

Through practice and and commitment, Fiona managed to start up her small business, selling treats to family and friends. Her delicious treats became largely popular in her neighborhood due to there delicious flavors and creative combinations.

“My most favorite thing to do is envision a new product and bake it to life in my kitchen. You hear stories of people turning what they love, a hobby into a career and think, wow. I wish I could do that. After years of working in retail, early childhood education, and health care, opening my home based bakery, Fi's Bakes, allows me to do what I love! Turning your hobby into a business is possible!”

Fiona is consistently creating new recipes and baked treats for her customers, friends, and family. She also has had the opportunity to sell her baked goods at the Pink Coffee Trailer outside Vandemeer Nursery in Ajax where customers are given the opportunity to shop and enjoy a sweet treat!
